SLC for Students

Classrooms

The SLC features 26 general classrooms varying in size from 24 to 300 seats (a total of approximately 2,200 seats) and 4 state-of-the-art Advanced Learning Labs dedicated to instruction in electronic research sources, information literacy skills, software applications, and faculty development. UGA faculty may inquire about reserving general classrooms through Campus Reservations (706/583-8020). The Campus Reservations office is located on the second floor of the Tate Center. See What's Available in the SLC for classroom seating plans, equipment specifications and photos.

All SLC classrooms are equipped with presentation technology. Faculty teaching in the SLC must reserve a key to access the classroom technology. To reserve a key, faculty may contact the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) (706/542-3456) located in the SLC room 170. Faculty may also receive classroom technology training through CTL. A full-time Classroom Technology Support Specialist is located in the SLC.

SLC general classrooms are reserved primarily for regularly scheduled UGA courses, but may be reserved for other events as well. The classroom technology is not automatically available with the reservation of a SLC classroom. Equipment usage may be subject to fees and limited to CTL hours of service. Event planners must contact CTL Classroom Support (706/542-3456) in advance if they would like to reserve the classroom audio-visual equipment.
